Throughout pregnancy I was pretty dubious about having my baby at Whips Cross as some of the reviews I’ve read on here have been terrible, plus I’d had a few off putting appointments regarding disorganised and impersonal/slightly rude staff, trouble getting through on phone lines, yet I can probably put this down to the terrible strains that the NHS has been through this past year as well as many changes and upgrades that are occurring at the hospital at the moment. Basically when it came down to birth I really couldn’t fault the staff and the maternity department. Mine and baby’s care was fabulous, staff were so on hand, confidently direct and engaging, did a great job and made me wonder why I’d been so anxious about birthing there. Fair enough it’s not the most modern of wards but upgrades are in the pipeline and at the end of the day the most important thing is about yours and baby’s safety and that you’re in good experienced hands on the day. A massive thank you to everyone involved in delivering my little Sadie.
"In great hands"
