I was recently admitted to ward C1 at Bassetlaw hospital and my husband was admitted later that day, both with Covid 19. My husband spent 9 days in ICU then went to C1 where I had a stay of 17 days.
The nursing staff, health care assistants, domestics and doctors in our opinion are second to none, every member of staff on icu and C1 took that extra bit of time to reassure us both that we were doing ok. We both had a struggle but thanks to the professionalism and dedication of every member of staff on the wards we managed to get through what I can only describe as the fight of our lives.
I saw staff go above and beyond their duties every day.
Each member of staff is a credit to themselves and the profession they represent. We cannot thank each and everyone of you enough for showing us such kindness and giving us the strength to overcome such a cruel disease.
From the ambulance staff and A &E staff then onto the ward we had the best treatment second to none. We are so very grateful to each and everyone of you.
Please keep safe and your spirits up whilst doing the most incredible stressful job. Thank you all so much. I am convinced our outcome would have been so different if it wasn't for each and every one of you.
