I had an appointment for Day Surgery at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. It was very straight forward and I felt taken care of throughout. I arrived just 5 mins before my appointment time as advised in my letter (due to COVID restrictions) and was greeted by a friendly receptionist who took my name and advised me where to sit in the waiting area. I was not kept waiting long which was great and then I was greeted by a very lovely staff nurse named Billy who asked me the now standard COVID related questions and took me into the room for my appointment.
I was then introduced to Aileen who was also very friendly upon entering the room. Billy explained very clearly each step of my procedure and what I could expect regards to recovery time etc. and then asked me to check and sign the consent form, all the while putting me at ease with general friendly chit chat. It was a straight forward procedure (the local anaesthetic injection was the worst part! ) and was over before I knew it thanks to the friendly chat from both Billy and Aileen. After it was done they clearly explained what I could expect with regards to recovery, caring for my wound etc.
I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight what a wonderful job they are doing in what must be a very trying time for everyone working in the NHS
