"Poor communication at Northern General Huntsman 3"

About: Northern General Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as the patient),

I was a patient on Huntsman ward 3 at the Northern General hospital for the treatment of Dupuytren's Contracture.

As a patient taking Warfarin, I was very annoyed with the mixed information I received before and after my operation. One doctor told me I should have been admitted 2 days before my operation instead of the day before, so as to be placed on Heparin. Then another doctor told me I didn't need Heparin. After my operation I was told I could go home, but then another doctor told me I had to stay overnight.

I felt very confused by the whole experience - it seemed like nobody really knew what they were supposed to be doing.
