Knowing the traffic would be busy I parked outside the hospital complex not realising that the uphill trek to find the centre was so far.
But even as I entered the grounds it was a busy nurse on her way to start a shift asked me if I was okay and offered to walk up with me - an independent minded senior gent - but I ploughed on and on and on and finally found the centre.
It was the start of being among friendly and kind staff as I was so politely asked to use the sanitiser and then directed into the factory line - at all times by smiling friendly folk who faced another long and pressured day.
I left with a vaccination and a much lighter step than when I went in - testament to the fact that delivering the needle is much more than just a stab in the arm - well done to all of them.
Oh, next time I’ll park closer and will bring a coffee to go and that’ll seal it all as a great and wonderful experience
