I have been part of this online group now for a few weeks and it has been great to be able to talk with others in similar situations and to also have support from the group leader who organises the sessions. We have been able to share our problems, strategies for dealing with difficult situations and have access to support, alongside creating a good bond together for the future. It is essential that carers who are looking after someone with dementia have time out for themselves - it is such a complex and stressful caring role which can be over a very long period of time and take it's toll. It is a good place to be able to check in, have a moan, groan, cry or laugh because we don't always have the escape routes to do that. Thank you for the WAD team for setting this up for us!
