"At my wits end with my GP surgery"

About: Highcroft Surgery

(as a service user),

I can’t even put into words how angry I am with my GP. There’s been so many things that they’ve failed at that it’s better for me to just list it:

1: they lost my blood test results

2: when I called about said results, I was basically gaslighted about whether I had the results. This ended with them saying my results ‘were with the dr’.

3: then spoke with the dr, who had no results and couldn’t understand why I had the blood test and hospital ultrasound in the first place. Basically told me I was stupid.

4: after listening to the hold music for an age to get through to speak to them, as soon as you’re the next call it cuts you off so you have to start again. I’ve mentioned this multiple times and every time I’ve been told ‘it’s not possible’

5: they insist on using the eConsult system, which is fine, except they seem to ignore it. Having done an eConsult, I waited 48 hrs and heard nothing. I rang and asked what was going on  and they said that I needed to make an appointment.... I knew this, that’s why I did the eConsult.

6: when I rang about the eConsult, it was following a consultant appointment. I was told they had the report, which I received a copy of too. I was then told the GP wanted to know when I’d last seen my consultant and why. I can only assume they hadn’t bothered to look at the report.

7: I’ve had to explain my very common condition MULTIPLE times to my GP.

8: having gone through all of this to get an appointment, I was told the GP would call at some point (any point) during the day. I waited, and waited, and waited. No call ever came.

This is honestly is just the tip of the iceberg. I have a long term condition, and I have to have regular contact with them. I’m honestly so angry and exhausted from constantly having to chase them and argue with them about the most basic things, like them keeping an appointment. I absolutely DREAD having to talk to them. I work for the NHS as a nurse, I know it’s hard at the moment, but I genuinely feel like this is unacceptable.

Dear novembersq88,

Thank you leaving a comment and we are sorry for the experience you faced when contacting us. As part of our pandemic recovery plans, we will strive to provide excellent health care to our local community. Please contact us directly to discuss your concerns to help resolve your concerns promptly.

Regards,
