GP referred me to Queen Victoria Hospital sleep clinic for potential sleep apnea. My wife had been urging me to attend for years! I am very glad I did.
Despite being a very busy clinic the wait times were very reasonable. I was given a device to monitor my oxygen levels and heart rate overnight and asked to keep a diary. The process of delivery and return of the equipment was very efficient.I was followed-up remotely (due to covid-19) by a very personable consultant who diagnosed sleep apnea. I was then given the option of trialling a CPAP machine. I felt involved in the decision making process.I was seen within a few weeks by a friendly and efficient staff member who talked me through the fit, operation and servicing of the CPAP machine.
I can report it has been a revelation! My snoring has gone from waking the whole house to barely audible and my sleep quality has improved to the extent that I wake up feeling refreshed. The bags under my eyes are looking better too!
The sleep clinic are friendly, efficient and responsive and I have been very impressed with this service.
