"Working Age Dementia"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Young Onset Dementia Service

(as a service user),

The carers group is proving to be a lifeline for carers of those living with working age dementia.   As we grow in confidence and get to know each other better we are finding that whilst we are all living with different circumstances, we can relate so much and share what difficulties we have and how we can share strategies for coping.   We also now have a WhatsApp group which allows us to contact each other as and when, in addition to our weekly get togethers.   This really is the only carers group that I can get involved in having to work full time so it will be great to keep this going if we can now that we have created those relationships.   Fantastic work by the WAD team and the Counsellor involved for setting this up.
