After a long day trying to liaise with primary care to support my sons symptoms we ended up at A&E. On arrival the nurse politely introduced herself and listened to what had brought us to the hospital. She reassured me as a mum I had done the right thing by bringing my son to the department. All the nurses showed professionalism by introducing themselves and complying with PPE, nothing was too much trouble.
I would like to acknowledge a certain member within the department Dr Marc who I believe was a registrar. When Marc came to review my son he listened to not only my concerns but also my sons concerns and acted appropriately to offer reassurance. Marc demonstrated professionalism and had a natural ability through effective communication skills to make my son feel relaxed. Marc was attentive, supportive and most of all what a doctor should be caring and compassionate. I left the department knowing what I had to look out for and reassured should anything change to present at the department. Thank you and please continue to look after the kids the way you do. The emergency department has a fantastic team who are all dedicated and committed to succeed!
Thank you and take care
