"Her manner was so kind"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Assisted Conception Services

(as the patient),

I had my ART appointment at GRI ACS unit a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I was turned away as my BMI was 30. 1 and needs to be under 30. I was utterly devastated and was very tearful.

I just wanted to thank the nurse who was with me, she couldnt have been more supportive and understanding. She was very patient with me and provided lots of reassurance. I understand how difficult it must be to have the job of telling people the bad news that they cannot commence treatment, however the way she told me and put across the information was great, her manner was so kind. I am unsure of the name of my nurse but just wanted her to get some recognition.

Dear Skippy87

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Care Opinion.

Thank you very much for commenting on how well the nurse supported you during your recent appointment at Assisted Conception Service. I am sorry your BMI did not meet the access criteria to proceed with your ART appointment, however will rearrange your appointment as soon as you are able to proceed.

I have shared your feedback with Senior Charge Nurse Joanne McNabb, who pass them on to the nurse you seen and I am sure she will be delighted to receive this. We look forward to see you back in the department in the very near future.

Best wishes

Isabel Traynor
