I was taken in for an emergency operation on a perforated appendix.
Although the receptionist was stony-faced and disinterested in my pain on arrival, once I was through I was looked after from beginning to end wonderfully, especially by the staff on the surgical ward.
They couldn't have done more and were so caring and happy to explain everything and attend to any small thing I needed (although I tried not to need much as they were so busy) but their patience and dedication were beyond anything I could have hoped for. They started early, finished late and just kept going like angels.
I want to thank them all for making a very scary experience feel safe and normal.
