I had my Covid injection, felt fine the next day but the following day had terrible palpitations and heart fluttering whilst watching TV. Phoned ambulance. Paramedics arrived pretty quickly and monitoring showed I was in fast Atrial Fibrillation. Heart rate at that point was high, rising further by the time I reached A&E at the RAH. Blood pressure was also raised. Taken to Coronary Care Unit for cardioversion and monitoring. The staff, including student nurses were just brilliant. So knowledgeable and professional. They couldn’t do enough for me and did every single task with a smile on their faces. The catering staff and domestics also seemed to be happy in their jobs. Was a pleasure to see. Eventually my heart rate settled and I was allowed home the following afternoon. I’d just like to say a massive thanks to all involved in my care and wish all the students the very best in their futures. Great nurses, all of them.
