In May this year I was involved in a traffic accident when I received serious injuries to my legs , wrists and shoulders. I was taken to Wishaw Accident and emergency and transferred to Ward 14 and Later to Ward 12.
I was treated immediately in Accident and emergency then transferred to Ward 14. Next day I went through an operation to fix my collar bone and wrist. I later went through another operation to fix my ankle and patella and was later transferred to ward 12.
During my 16 day stay in total I was most impressed with all your staffs professionalism and compassion and outright thoughtful interest in my comfort. Nurse Racheal, Chloe and Retty along with assistants Michael, Leeanne are the only names I remember but all staff I met as a patient went beyond their role requirements for their duty. I wish to express my most heartfelt thanks from the consultants (Mr Grant) surgeons and to the ward cleaners and catering staff.
I still have difficulty typing because of my injuries. My injuries will take some time to heal if they ever do properly and I have not had much experiences with the NHS but my recent experiences has made me aware of the difficult job that nurses and ward staff have in day to day dealing with critical and recovering patients. I am lucky in that my injuries could have been much worse and that I have good family support to assist me at home during my recovery.
