"Phoned the x-ray dept twice rude and no x-ray…"

My Dr referred me to x-ray at louth hospital but I tried twice to see if they had received it but all I got was a sturn no and told to phone my Dr again so that I did but its now 4 weeks in pain and still no contact from x-ray so I will not be phoning again to be talked down and spoken to like this I am polite and always have been and always will be so from now on I will be using Skegness dept as phoning louth x eay dept to get a sturn rude uncaring answer is not worth it

Regarding xrays referred by GP’s, due to covid social distancing restrictions, we are no longer able to operate a walk-in service which is our ‘gold-standard’ and what we hope to return to as soon as possible.

We are only allowed a certain number of patients within our areas at any one time as determined by the size of those areas, and we also have CT, MRI, Ultrasound patients attending as well as Xray.

Referring GP’s forward their xray requests via a secure electronic route, and those deemed urgent by GP’s are given appointments within 24hours. Xrays considered to be routine by GP’s are given appointments either over the phone, or if we cannot contact the patient, via letter. The current wait for a ‘routine’ xray is 3-4 weeks.
