About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Vascular Surgery (Ward 8)

(as a relative),

For the past few years my 87 year old Dad has been under the care of Mr Siddiqui , Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at Hairmyres Hospital .

During every consultation we have found Mr Siddiqui to be very warm, caring and friendly , a skilled listener and very clear communicator .He has a lovely sense of humour too . 

He recently explained some difficult news to us in a way that has reassured us and prevented us from worrying unnecessarily . We cannot praise him highly enough and will never forget his warmth and kindness . There is so much more to patient care than medical knowledge and professionalism and Mr Siddiqui is a natural !

His Secretary Debbie has always been very kind and friendly too .

Dear Joely,

What terrific feedback, this will be a real tonic for Mr SIddiqui and Debbie. It is really gratifying for staff to be recognised for their professionalism, care and compassion.

We recognise the importance of clear communication and involving patients and their families (with their permission) in their care, as well as the need to support them through difficult times and perhaps when difficult decisions have to be made.

This is the standard of person-centred care that Mr Siddiqui inspires his team to deliver for every patient, every time, it will be my pleasure to share your feedback with him, Debbie and the rest of the team.
