"Amazing staff really make all the difference"

I want to say a huge thanks to the day surgery team at Monklands. I was looked after in the day surgery unit before and after my wisdom teeth extraction on Friday. I was nervous going in as I have had a lot of bad experiences in hospitals over the last two years and am now quite frightened of medical staff but I didn't need to worry this time.

All the staff were friendly and polite and did their absolute best to ensure I was OK. They immediately put me at ease, and I felt completely confident that I was in good hands! They made sure that I was covered up at all times and that I was comfortable and relaxed.

Not only were the staff professional and friendly, but they even stopped to have a chat and joke with me (and other patients). Amazing nurses and medical staff like those in the day surgery unit really make all the difference for patients. It's a bit frightening going in to hospital, so having lovely staff really helps to get rid of the nerves!

A massive thanks to Kat who looked after me in the ward, and took time to chat to me and make sure I was doing OK after my surgery. And thanks also to the male nurse (I'm so sorry I can't remember your name - I was a bit spaced out!) who reassured me my wounds were OK, was cracking jokes with me and even carried my bag for me!

Thank you so much for looking after me and showing me such kindness and compassion - I can't tell you how much I appreciate it! Hopefully this can be passed on to the staff (even though I'm not so good with names!).
