I have rheumatoid arthritis. Since last June I have had difficulty walking & bending
In late August 2020 I had a phone appointment with Rheumatology ANHB. During the call the doctor said that although I had a diagnosed issue with my knee-they would not let me anywhere near a hospital in the present circumstances.
On the letter to my GP this appears to be translated as -the patient refuses to come into hospital for a consultation/X-ray because of fear of Covid.
How do I get this retracted from my medical records please, as it may affect any future treatment?
I had actually had a mammogram at Nevill Hall in April 2020 (I had breast cancer in 2018, for the second time), which shows that I am not afraid of visiting a hospital!
Secondly, in June this year I suffered severe sacro-iliac pain. The Rheumatology Helpline ANHB advised an X-ray of my lower back (I had asked for a steroid injection). I rang Chepstow Hospital to book this, to be informed that no hospital would proceed with this. After research I discover that Nice guidelines stopped all lower back X-rays in MAY 2019!!!
How can Rheumatology ANHB not be aware of this?
I am deeply unhappy with the falsehood told about my telephone response and the inadequate up-to-date knowledge of Rheumatology ANHB
I am still in pain & discomfort with no help or support on the horizon
thank you for listening
