I'm completely puzzled to read the recent glowing reviews from people who have been able to (after admittedly sometimes waiting for a long time on the phone) get appointments.

My husband, son and I registered with this practice 3 weeks ago. I was then running out of tablets as issued from my previous surgery, so tried to ring for an appointment. After waiting for ages for the covid message to play, I was then given the option of pressing 1 for an appointment, which I did. The line immediately disconnected. I tried this several times with the same result. My husband then went to the surgery as he was also due for his medication issuing, and was told he couldn't arrange an appointment and to ring in at 8am the next day, or use the Rotherham health app. I had already tried this and it told me that no GP appointments were available. When my Systmonline app finally linked me to the surgery (I was on it with my old surgery) I tried to get an appointment on there, and the same thing - no GP appointments available, and the only Nurse practitioner ones were for topics that didn't apply to me. Last Thursday (a week ago) I woke up with severe pain in my side. By Saturday it hadn't gone, so I went to the walk in centre in Sheffield. I waited 3 hours but when seen, the nurse couldn't find any immediate cause of the pain and told me to see my own GP. So I was back in the loop of not being able to secure an online appointment and not being able to speak to anyone on the phone as the line kept disconnecting as soon as I pressed any of the available options. I have tried every day this week.

I am really worried that I am now reliant on a surgery where I will never be able to be seen, and that my only option is to ring 111.

A neighbour had told me how bad it was with this surgery but I thought she was exaggerating. How wrong I was. I am still in pain. Where do I go from here? Surely there is something wrong with a system that won't allow you to speak to anyone, there is no apparent email address or other means of contact and the online options have no appropriate appointments to offer? Please could you advise? Thank you.
