"My experience in hospital"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Emergency department General and specialist medicine / Ward 41

(as the patient),

I was wondering if you would post this on your page as I don’t think our A&E or ward staff get enough recognition for their hard work. I attended A& E a few days ago for treatment. I was very ill and very worried. A staff nurse Marie was looking after me. I got abit upset with everything going on and Marie was so kind and caring. She took the time to listen to my worries and really put me at ease. I am training to be a nurse myself and if I nurse with half the compassion and kindness that Marie showed me I will go far. Everyone in the department was brilliant. I then was transfered to ward 24… again what an absolute team of amazing nurses and HCA’s! I was then moved to ward 41. All the staff there was absolutely amazing. Nothing was a bother to them. There was one Nurse who really went above and beyond… Georgie I think her name was. She was so kind and really helped me through some tough nights, she is such an amazing nurse. I am so thankful for our wonderful NHS! 💙

encourage people to share their experiences of health and social care, what matters to you, what you particularly liked or disliked so that we can share with the relevant department, and staff .
