Geurnsey House in Sheffield has saved my life & I'm on my way to detox.
I've been an addict for some 20+ years, not all in Sheffield.
Already on a merhadone & benzo script late in 2007 my mum passed away. I didn't just go off the rails I couldn't see the rails. I had a nervous breakdown & jumped on the 1st train out of Sheffield, wasn't going anywhere, just wanted to run away. The chemist where I got my merhadone must have contacted Guernsey who phoned me. I'd had nothing for 3 days as I thought there wasn't anything I could do, I was on over 100ml merhadone, 30mg diazies & 10mg nitrazepam. They posted a script to a local chemist where I'd gone & sorted it out for a switch over, as at the time I had no intention of coming bk to Sheffield. All this was done with no fuss. I came bk to Sheffield a shell of the man that left, abusing drugs again so I got into a hostel where I was able to get stable & now I've had my own flat for 4 yrs the longest tenancy I've ever had & am now getting ready to go into detox for what I hope is the last time & that's all owed to Louise & Guernsey House in Sheffield.
