"Care For Elderly Patients"

About: Poole Hospital / Older people's healthcare Poole Hospital / Palliative medicine

(as a relative),

My elderly mother spent a six weeks on this ward before moving to a nursing home for palliative/end of life care.  Everyone was welcoming and caring  and  it was very comforting to know that  my mother was always treated with kindness and respect , which I am so grateful for. The doctors and staff kept me well informed of my mothers condition and were always happy to address any questions I had which was very reassuring during a difficult time.

Thank you so much to everyone on the Lytchett Ward

Dear Karen

Very sorry to hear you have had to watch your mother decline in health and go into palliative care, our thoughts are with you.

Thank you for sharing how the team on Lytchett Ward have been there to care for your mother, showing kindness and respect throughout this process and also to keep you fully informed and address any questions you had.

It is not clear from your comment if your mother is still with you but if so we hope you get to spend precious moments with her in the nursing home, and also that you are able to call on the support of family and friends at this time and in the coming months.

We will be pleased to pass on your kind comments to the Lytchett Ward and their Matron as they will value your feedback.

Regards

Patient Experience Team
