"Poor service"

About: Chapelfield Medical Centre

(as a service user),

Recent experience with Chapefield, I needed a specialist service not sure the GP surgery knew much about the condition or where to get the right help so in fairness they referred where they thought ì needed help.

What happened long story short is the funding was refused the GP surgery left me to it, when I asked for a response and advised if I hear nothing I would ask PALS to get involved. They offered me a GP appointment to increase suffer indignation of having to doctors present, for what I dont know, but could hazard a guess because I felt I was not getting a service and wanted something more than just being ignored from previous emails.

When I arrived they told me there was nothing they could do, having rarely accessed GP service I did not feel it patient centred in anyway. There is some many little areas when you work around your health, you dont get time to deal with and know having had a few really negative experiences with GPs in Barnsley they seem to find ways to fob me off and make me the problem, rather than providing some decent communication, acknowledging me as a person and what I am approaching for assistance.

I genuinely think the NHS is amazing and feel very humbled to be part of that service but when I experience sub standard service on a few occasions (that's a real understatement) then I dont feel trusted or that I can trust the doctors if I open my mouth, and that's not right and it's very disempowering, and I for one would call for far better patient centred care as the effects on me as a person are far greater than the GPs see.
