I went with a relative to their endoscopy appointment.
The reception area was welcoming, staff were friendly and helpful, and communicated in a way that took my relative's hearing into account. They phoned my mobile about 10 minutes before my relative was expected to be ready to leave - much appreciated, thank you, as this reduced anxiety and meant we could have a cup of tea (friendly cafe volunteers too), and we didn't have to wait longer than necessary in the reception area.
My relative said the appointment went well and everyone was very helpful.
A couple of things that might be able to be improved - difficulty with opening the plastic bags supplied for putting clothes in - same problem as with supermarket carrier bags - and I think part of the pre-appointment diet information that says 'in conjunction with...' wasn't very clear, so my relative wasn't totally sure if they had followed it correctly.
This was my relative's first appointment at Newark, previously had to go across to Kings Mill, and it was much better and less anxious having this appointment close to home.
