"Walk in Centre at Dewsbury & District Hospital A & E Dept"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

After checking in at reception to attend my wait was about an hour; I was taken to a curtained off area by Lisa where she asked questions about my current health problem; Lisa professionally checked my temperature; blood pressure; heart rate; throat and sounded my chest. I have always been used to a Doctor carrying out these procedures so I was very pleased to see that nurses are now providing this service. The consultation did not take long (however I did not feel rushed) Lisa provided me with advice and prescription and I was good to go!

What could have been better? -more privacy, The assessment areas are separated by a curtain, everyone within hearing distance can hear conversations within the various units; this can be expected this in a coffee bar, pub or on a train or bus.

This curtain system may be to protect the safety of staff, however it does nothing for the privacy of the visiting patient.
