"Communication problems"

About: nursing staff

(as a friend),

Recently, a nurse phoned my home regarding a patient, I was a contact number. The gentleman in question had got anxious & was asking for a relative. The nurse said his breathing had been laboured, but his obs had settled down. I asked if they needed his family to go 3 times, no was the answer.

I contacted the relative, he phoned & asked the same question, & got the same answer. 2 hrs later we phoned again & was told a Doctor was with the man. They would phone us back within the hr. This was done, & we were told to go down, the man had taken a turn for the worse.

On arrival, we got the worst news possible, he had left us. I accept that he may have died anyway, but why did the nurse phone, if there was no concern. Why did they not tell us to go there, when they had a Doctor with him? We may have had the chance to hold his hand as he passed away. Totally upset over the matter.

R.I.P.( H.)

2 days since in radiology, it was noted that no staff used the hand gel, that was near me.
