"Attentive to my needs"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

Presented at local pharmacy with severe abdominal pain, staff contacted my GP and they suggested I attend the Emergency Department at Crosshouse. The pharmacy assistant went above and beyond her role and took me to the hospital in her car.  She then arranged for staff to transfer me from the car to the department.

Following initial assessments and a CT scan I was diagnosed with kidney stones.  Pain management took a while but all staff were very accommodating and attentive to my needs before discharging me to manage the pain at home.  Special mentions to Caroline and Dave for their incredible caring qualities and leadership skills.  Thank you again to all the Emergency Department staff, very grateful.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share your lovely feedback. This must have been a very distressing situation but it is really encouraging to hear that you felt so well supported and looked after. We will share your kind comments with the staff in ED, which they will be delighted to receive, especially Caroline and Dave. At a time of unprecedented challenge for our teams it will be particularly helpful for them to know that their efforts to provide person-centred care with compassion and sensitivity have been so well rewarded.

Wishing you all the very best for your ongoing recovery and it is my sincere hope the your pain is now under control.

Linda
