I needed to pee. A lot. All the time. Long drives? Forget it. Sleep through the night? No chance. 2 hour meeting? I'd be at the gents at a crucial moment. Familiar to many I'm sure, but I'm the right side of 40, so couldn't help but worry what this would be like in 10, 20, 30 years time. Would I be wetting myself in Tesco? I've manned up and ignored things about my body in the past, only to end up having major surgery, so I was taking no chances this time.
Right from my first meeting with Siobhan, a Urology Nurse Specialist at Forth Valley Royal Hospital I felt like my condition was being taken seriously. I felt a like little bit of a hypochondriac, I mean it wasn't that series, was it? Well, Siobhan certainly though differently and the experience I received, from that first meeting, to my prompt cystoscopy, to my prescription and follow-up call, was one of professional, concerned care. I was never made to feel like I was wasting anyone's time, or I was a burden or at it. Thanks to Siobhan's diagnosis, prescription and bladder training advice, I can now make it to at least Sandback Services on the M6, get 8 hours uninterrupted kip and always be in the room at those meetings. Thank you.
