I have had a lump at the side of my neck for over a year. In October I pointed it out to my gp who said we should have an ent referral.
I waited. A few weeks ago I received an nhs letter saying I had missed an appointment and no further appointment would be made. I was astounded. How can I attend an appointment I dont know about?! I called the secretary of the consultant I was supposed to see. I explained the situation to her voicemail and left my phone number, chi number, name and address. Needless to say I have heard nothing back from this person. I called my gp in an anxious state. Explaining the situation. My gp has re referred me asking for an urgent appointment! That was several weeks ago. I am worried that the same thing will happen again. If they send an appointment, will I receive it? I have made a complaint to royal mail.
So I wait and wait and get more and more anxious. As a cancer recoverer this is so important to me. Doesnt seem to be as important to anyone else though.
