"Communication could be improved"

About: Maternity care / Maternity Ward

(as a service user),

My time on the maternity ward has been good. The staff have all been very good.

The midwives who looked after me during my delivery were really fantastic. I would also like to mention the midwife who has looked after me up on the ward - she has been absolutely brilliant as well.

The ward in general has been fine.

The only thing I think could be improved would be the communication. I came in with a planned induction and so they knew before I came in that they were busy. I feel that during the staff handover details were lost. I got told one thing by some members of staff (e.g. you'll be examined soon), and then with the changeover of staff it doesn't happen. I found that there was also a lack of communication regarding what was happening.

However, other than this, everything has been fine.
