"Child COVID vaccine"

About: NHS Lothian / Covid 19 Vaccination Programme

(as a parent/guardian),

What an amazing team, at the royal hospital for sick children in Edinburgh.

My daughter's Lily (5) and Sophie (7) were booked in to have their first COVID vaccine. As you may have imagined they were a little nervous.

However the fantastic team put both girls at easy. The staff were all so kind, warm, welcoming and engaging.

I would like to say a special thanks to Sharon, who who gave the girls their vaccine. She was so friendly. Both girls loved she gave them a choice of which arm they would like and then a sticker.

She was so calm, we didn't feel rushed or just like another person in the queue. The girls now say they are not frightened of 'jags' anymore.

A truly amazing team, doing a brilliant job. Many thanks.

Dear Val04

Thank you for sharing your story with us via Care Opinion.

It is completely understandable that your daughters were so nervous for their vaccines and I am so pleased to hear that they got on okay. It is really nice to hear that you found the team so kind and welcoming and that your daughters are no longer frightened of jags.

I will make sure your kind comments have been shared with the relevant staff who will really appreciate you taking the time to share this with us.

Best wishes

Louise
