"Whole experience was wonderful"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Outpatients

(as the patient),

I recently attended the Golden Jubilee for an MRI scan of my lower spine. The staff at the hospital were all absolutely brilliant. The receptionist at the desk was so friendly and welcoming and looked through the questionnaire/covid questions and got me checked in quickly and efficiently. The HCSW who looked after me before my scan made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed.

When she couldn’t get my cannula in after one try she brought in the radiologist who got it in first time. I really appreciated this as it only took two attempts and due to my rubbish veins it’s normally a lot more. Once I was in the scanning room the two radiologists made me feel so comfortable and relaxed before my scan. During my scan they put music on and checked up on me at various points throughout to make sure I was okay. Afterwards the same HCSW made sure I was okay as I was a little bit dizzy after the scan. My overall experience was so lovely and I can’t thank the staff enough for how caring, kind and helpful they were. They made the whole experience absolutely wonderful.

Dear 1acm7,

Thank you for your post regarding your recent visit to NHS Golden Jubilee. We appreciate this is a very worrying time for patients, especially during the current pandemic and I am so pleased to read of the care and attention that the staff provided, ensuring that you were made feel comfortable throughout your journey. The staff will really appreciate your kind compliments regarding your visit. To allow me to share with the staff involved in your care, it would be very helpful if you could contact me on 0141 951 5951, or feedback@gjnh.scot.nhs.uk and provide me with your name and date of birth. In the meantime I will share with the relevant managers who will share with all staff.

Regards

Paula
