My Mother (82yrs old) was admitted following a protracted conversation with her GP. She obviously has ongoing issue with her cognitive function. She was discharged from ward 14 following the CT scan suite refusal to perform a CT scan on her brain (requested by first year resident). She received her brain scan at the Golden Jubilee on 31st. January.
Scan which took 7 mins to complete, job done. Scan report has been sent to Monklands. Ward 14 don't have it. Consultants under secretary doesn't have it. I finally called patient affairs (name obtained) after answer phone screening. Promised a call back yesterday. I didn't receive one. Over three weeks wait when the Golden Jubilee staff say results/reports are done within 1/2 weeks. My Mothers cognitive decline is getting worse by the day. Without her daughters pushing she'd be alone, confused & unable to reach out for answers. I'm pretty appalled by the lack of urgency in obtaining these results. If their is treatment available for my Mothers condition its been delayed. We're about to email NHS Lanarkshire's Chief Executive & the Health Minister. If we can't get answers maybe they can.
