I cannot fault the care of the consultant at the Assisted Conception Unit, or the counsellors and nurses. The administration on the other hand is appalling. No transparency in costs and I’ve just had a bill for something I didn’t know I had to pay for, and which I hadn’t budgeted for. On top of this and the terrible bedside manner of those answering the phones my unsuccessful IVF cycle has been more distressing than necessary. I am now seriously contemplating whether I can be up to trying again (or affording to).
