"Care and kindness second to none"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a service user),

I had cause to call an emergency ambulance for my mum last night as she had chest pain. Community first responders arrived quickly and were soon followed by the paramedics. They were so kind and reassuring to mum and to me and very soon had her obs checked and took her to ED at Antrim hospital where she had further investigations.

Just want to say thank you to Tricia and her fellow crew (didn't catch his name) for their care and attention. It made a stressful situation better. Don't know where we'd be without our great emergency services. This is the 4th time we've had to use their services during the pandemic and each time the care and kindness shown by them has been second to none.

Dear CJ72

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the care and kindness your mother received from the Community First Responders and NIAS staff. I am sure this was a frightening experience for you both but it was encouraging to hear that support was quick to arrive, particularly during current pressures in the Health and Social Care system. I would like to share your feedback with the staff involved, in order to do so we would need just a few more details about the time and location of the call. If you would like to provide more details please contact me directly at neil.gillan@nias.hscni.net.

Thank you

Neil

Dear CJ72

Just a quick update to advise that we were able to identify the NIAS staff members and I can confirm that their professionalism was acknowledged and we passed on your appreciation. NIAS continues to seek input from service users and carers to inform and influence our services, if this is something that you would be able to support please contact me at neil.gillan@nias.hscni.net.

Best wishes

Neil
