Anything else?
I cannot praise the staff highly enough - nor could I fault the treatment & care I received.
This praise has to extend to all the staff I was in contact with - including the consultants, doctors, nurses and auxiliariry staff (even the catering staff who brought our food & drink).
Although I have focused on the Coronary Care Unit, as I spent most of my time there, I also would like to thank the ambulance crew who picked me up at Weston Lane surgery around 7 pm on Wednesday 10th april 2013. They were reassuring & cheerful, helping me through a traumatic time. I can't remember the names of all the staff who looked after me in the Resuscitation Dept in A&E, but they were marvellous - even keeping me talking while inserting needles to take my mind off what was happening after I admitted I was squeamish about such things! I was moved to the CCU late in the evening, where cheerful & efficient care helped me at a point where I was bewilfdered & scared (never having been in hospital since I was a child - and I'm now 56 years old!) - their calm, reassuring attitude certainly helped me immensely, to say nothing of the actual healthcare they provided, which was excellent.
The excellent care and the wonderful attitude of the staff continued when the day shift came on duty. I've lost count of how many people (professional, ancillary & voluntary) I came into contact with - but they all helped turn a frightening period of my life into a bearable experience.
Late at night I was moved to E3, where I only spent the night & part of the next day, but still encountered a friendly & efficient atmosphere.
I also believe that all possible treatment was offered & carried out - including all the drugs & procedures necessary to result in my being home now and able & willing to write this report.
