"This place is security bonkers"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as a service user),

There are many locked doors. This place is security bonkers, with that there is protocol ways of going on. Which you do have to adhere to all this tends to have to one side my session. I suppose, what do you expect in a top security mental hospital.

It's getting bad outside the gates as well. People question whether they are allowed to do things that I took for granted in the 50's 60's and 70's.

It keeps moving more & more towards a police state. You have to have permission for everything.

HI There,

I understand you feeling that the hospital is very security conscious and can feel like you are in a prison rather than a healthcare setting. We have over the years changed this to reflect much of a hospital feel as we can but we have to consider the security directions that we are governor by. That in mind, if you have some concerns regarding restrictions you can discuss these with your named nurse or MDT and they can explain them to you or support you to challenge any restrictions you think are related to you alone.

We are happy to you about these if you wish

Regards

Adele Fox
