My wife has been in hospital, firstly in Ayr on various wards. They didn’t know what was wrong with her, finally decided that she had endocarditis, massive doses of antibiotics which after 3 months are still continuing. They moved her The Golden Jubilee where she had open heart surgery. Whilst there she had a fall (she has not been good on her feet for 20 years after a viral encephalitis which left her with epilepsy) and broke her ankle and to my knowledge her leg as well . The nurse who phone me said she had had a small accident and that at least she didn’t have to go to a+e . While she was in the cardiac ward in Ayr hospital she also caught Covid and so did I. After 2 years, we both caught Covid from an NHS hospital. It honestly feels like they have tried their best to drive me insane.

With the Jubilee Hospital they were really good with the heart surgery. I think they were to pushy to get me to visit my wife after her heart op in fact when I saw her it frightened me. I wish they had given more information about her state - a little chat with me before I saw her it would have prepared me for the shocking state. They discharge her to Kilmarnock to do a operation which wasn’t suitable for her condition, so spent two unnecessary transports, both of which very uncomfortable trips both with broken leg.

She only stayed in Kilmarnock for the weekend as then they decided to send her back to Glasgow (Royal) - yet another hospital, yet another set of rules to find my way around. The broken leg I feel was caused the lack of compassion. She has now got at least (as I understand it) up to 6 months with this cage around her leg. She will not be able to manage crutches as her balance is no good after her bout of viral encephalitis some 20 years ago. I feel there is still a problem with the Ayr hospital.
