"The amazing midwives at Getting ready for baby team"

About: Antenatal Education / Getting ready for baby

(as the patient),

I am blown away by the service I've received from the midwives involved in Getting Ready For Baby. This is my 1st pregnancy. I lost my mother over three years ago and I don't have any sisters to get advice off and looking things up on the internet can be a scary minefield.

With the pandemic still on going I had to do my antenatal classes via zoom. At the 1st session we were given an email address for EITP Midwives and told to email with any questions, they don't want us sitting at home worrying about something. At 35 weeks pregnant I have to date emailed the midwives on three separate occasions, each time receiving a prompt personal response.

The first time I emailed for the silliest reason ever! I thought I had accidentally discovered the gender of the baby in the top right hand corner of a sonogram that only had measurements. The midwife who responded assured me that that was in fact my gender! The second time was to ask about protein in urine and when would I hear back from the labs. I was told they would only get in touch if there was an issue with the sample. No news is good news! I'm happy to report there is no longer protein in my urine and all was ok on that front. The third time was today for some general advice on the baby hiccupping, a really cute feeling but something I thought I should check out rather than relying on Google. Again I received such a kind response that put me right at ease.

As well as the excellent email service I have had phone calls from the midwives, around 15 weeks and 25 weeks just to check in and see how I'm doing. From really friendly women who genuinely care about my physical and mental health.

The fact this service is free is incredible. In my opinion it's absolutely priceless. Thank you to every midwife within the Getting Ready For Baby team, you have made my pregnancy so much easier. Midwives are just amazing x

Hi

Thank you so much for your lovely words. The midwives will be delighted with them and I will ensure they are passed on.

Good luck in the remainder of your pregnancy!

If you require anything you have the contacts.
