I was really impressed with the excellent service received at Basildon hospital. he had been poorly for some time, in and out of hospital since January. He was usually taken to Southend hospital which was ok but on wednesday he was rushed to Basildon hospital by ambulance. he was admitted into the resuss dept before moving him to Florence nightingale ward, where all the staff from the Matron,sister right down to the girl that brought round the meals were excellent so very kind. nothing was too much trouble, the care they gave to him and to us his family was surperb. He was very poorly and unfortunatly he passed away, again the staff were very helpful with tea, coffee cuddles and were so kind at this distressing time.

He died with all his family around him, the staff were on hand if we needed them, this was awful time for us but the staff did everything they could to make it easier.

we just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff who helped us in his final moments.
