"The new car park is great and ..."

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

The new car park is great and not too expensive.

What could be improved

When visiting an elderly relative the staff were not to be seen. The patients, all elderly men, looked very bored and no one can blame them for being depressed. There were no tvs, radio, reading material or any thing to keep the patients occupied. Visitors were allowed minimum visiting hours and the patients were left to thier own devices. The staff had no respect for the patients, my relative was known by his middle name but staff continued to call him a name he had not used for over 60 years. I felt depressed being there for 2 hours, i could not imagine living there. The atmosphere in the hospital and ward made me not want to visit my relative again.

The lack of staff meant that my relative fell during the night and broke a bone. He had needed an operation for a long time but never been well enough to have one. He had to have an emergency operation. Emergency is not the word I would have used to describe the pace of the whole ordeal.
