What I liked
The service of the technicians in the Fracture Clinic who took off the plaster put on in France and replaced it.
What could be improved
I was given no idea of the pathway to recovery of my injury - a fractured scaphoid. No advice was given about exercising to improve the flexibility of my wrist or to recover the loss of muscle tone in my upper arm. I would have hoped to have received some basic things I could do in written/diagramatic form. I did receive excellent advice and guidance from a private Physiotherapist but at a cost. I was left with the feeling that I had been effeciently processed by the clinic in their terms - consultants made a quick decision on my condition. No one seemed to worry about getting well again. One consultant remarked when I pointed this out "I see what you mean. I will raise this at our staff meeting. To us, what you have experienced is routine, everyday." Obviously, to me it wasn't and I could have been given some simple guidance to help.
