"Everything was fully explained"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I attended for my colonoscopy early on a Saturday morning and had to go to a couple of different rooms to fill in forms & be prepped ready for my procedure. All the staff were caring and calm which I appreciated as this was my first experience of this department & indeed this type of investigation. Once in the surgery I met Mr Battersby who introduced himself as my surgeon & the other two staff members whom he said were to be there during my procedure. Everything was fully explained & I felt calm & secure. The results were explained to me & also the next stage in my treatment. I was also given a written report which I was able to read more thoroughly at home. Emanuel was with me in recovery & rang my husband for me whilst I got dressed.

Altogether this was a very good experience - well done to all the staff.
