My elderly father in law, with unstable angina and other health related issues, is due to go in for an angiogram to the Jubilee Hospital, referred from NHS Forth Valley cardiology department. He understandably needs to have a covid test done beforehand but they are insisting this is done at the Jubilee hospital, which will involve a 85 mile round trip lasting over 3 hours (if we are lucky) on hospital transport. My husband is unable to take him as he is working in London.
After several phone calls to the Jubilee they have stated that there are no other solutions to this and that they can’t coordinate covid test results done by another hospital and therefore he will need to travel on a bus to get this test done which will take less than 30 seconds to do.
This is not patient centred care and will cause a level of distress and anxiety to my father in law.
"Lack of patient centred care"
