I received my MRI scan results and it made me fearful that there was something seriously wrong with my back. I stopped running in case I was putting myself at risk of more damage. As a health professional I know all about the chronic pain cycle, but I didn’t realise I was actually in it myself until I saw Una Johnston from ICATS physio. Una is so experienced and knowledgeable and was immediately reassuring that the scan results were nothing to be concerned about. She explained what was going on with my back and was able to answer all my questions. Since the appointment I have got back to my previous level of activity and am loving being able to be back out running again. I really appreciated her advice and her kind and professional approach. She took her time and made sure I had all the information I needed.

Thank you so for taking the time to comment on the care you received in Orthopaedic ICATS.It is very much appreciated by the team.

I am very glad that you have managed to return to your previous level of activity.

Una Johnston is well deserving of your comments. Una has worked in the Orthopaedic ICATS team for many years and has been part of the Regional Spinal Pathway since it was established to provide a high level of care for patients suffering from spinal conditions.

Una has a vast knowledge in the management of spinal pain and is always prefessional and thorough in her management of patients.

Orthopaedic ICATS practitioners have had specialised training working alongside Spinal Surgeons and have links with the Regional Spinal unit in Musgrave Park Hospital so that cases can be discussed with Spinal Consultants ensuring advice and reassurance is passed on to patients in a timely manner.
