(as a service user),

I was unceremoniously handed the liquid to drink, and had to remove my mask and sit in an open corridor drinking for an hour. I felt very exposed to covid and the waiting area was dark and grim

I am very sorry to hear of your poor experience at the BCH CT department and that the facilities were dark and grim. I am certain that the staff would have been happy to move you to a better location if they were aware of your concerns.
Unfortunately the current CT department in BCH Tower is in need of updating and a project will get underway this month to create a new, modern, fit for purpose environment which has the needs of our patients fed into the design. I hope that if you visit the department in future you will find that it is a much more pleasant experience.

I apologise for your poor experience and that you felt you were vulnerable to Covid infection. I will share your comments with the team in the CT department in order that we find a more pleasant area for our patients to wait in whilst they have their contrast.
