I took my Father this week to the Borders General Hospital to see a consultant cardiologist. This was his third appointment in the past 6 months.
He had been seen by his GP the day before who wanted to admit him, but given he had a consultant appt the next day she ordered a CXR for him prior to his appt. We arrived at the department (They did not have the xray form), however, within 10 mins it appeared. He was taken straight away to have his X-ray.
Then his appt was 3. 40 with Mr Yacoub. He was seen at 3. 30 by the nurse (BP and weight taken) and then within 10 mins taken into see the consultant. The consultant (a locum) was excellent, he thoroughly examined my father and we discussed his clinical condition together.
The service was excellent and the care taken to listen to my father and me was refreshing. I was very impressed with the consultant and the speed of the service.
"Impressed by cardiology outpatient visit"
