About: University Hospital Hairmyres

(as a service user),

I recently attended Hairmyres Radiology department for a transabdominal ultrasound.

I was greeted by a lovely CSW (so sorry I did not catch her name) she was friendly and put me at ease straight away.

Kathleen the radiographer was equally lovely. Chatting and explaining the procedure as she went. An internal exam had to be carried out which could have been a daunting experience however both members of staff were so relaxed and professional that I felt completely at ease.

I had waited 10 months for this scan which was less than ideal, however I full understand the impact COVID has had on many services.

Despite the staff being very busy I'm sure, I felt that Kathleen took her time, was very thorough and made sure I was comfortable throughout.

Thank you so much to you both. You are both a credit to your profession.
