"Suffer in silence than go here"

About: Southmead Hospital / Neurology

(as the patient),

In My Opinion you are better off suffering in silence than going to the Rosa Burden Centre. I feel the staff are rude and the most unsympathetic people I have ever met. When seeing the Dr I felt they forced me to say stuff that I did not believe in or that were not true. They forced me to repeat after them there is nothing wrong with me and told me that I need to stop acting like a baby and get in a bus to the hospital, which I would if I was not having 5 seizures a day. Oh and let me add, there is something wrong with me as the fake seizures they were telling me to stop having are tonic colonic epilepsy that was undiagnosed for 9 years.

So yes I feel your are better off staying at home and hibernating even if it means you get worse as this place will make you go down hill so fast it will even scare you. Run a mile and if you have been referred here and have the money move far away from Bristol.

One last thing they told me I don't have autism as I 'did not look autistic'

Dear ArwynESIOTROT304,

To echo my colleague's sentiment, I am very sorry that you had this experience of care and treatment at the Rosa Burden Centre.

I also appreciate the distress that will have been caused by the manner in which you felt that your autism diagnosis was approached by staff.

If you don't wish to make a formal complaint but still want to discuss your concerns with senior staff at the Rosa Burden Centre, you are also welcome to contact our PALS Team on 0117 414 4569.

You are at liberty to pursue either option, whichever is more appropriate for you.

Kind Regards,

Jack Flahavan
