About: East Surrey Hospital

(as a relative),

What could be improved

As a volunteer working in the Coffee Shop I was concerned that several hospital staff dressed in what I believe are called 'Scrubs' (pale blue garments) asked for food or refreshments. One person's robe was even bloodstained.

Is it the policy of the hospital to allow staff to leave medical or surgical areas in such clothing? It would seem to increase the risk of the spread of infections which I hope you are trying to minimise.

Please investigate this and establish a rule for staff conduct, that volunteers serving in the coffee shop can comply with.
